It is still possible to realize high cost savings in healthcare when information tochnologies are applied on higher level. From this point of view the optimal state is digital hospital, in which all paper documents are replaced by electronic ones. Digitalization should not charge stuff with additional load, contrariwise electronic documents should be created with minimal effort. Technologies that make it real are connected to identification of patients, medicines, machines and doctors, mobile technologies, especially bare codes, RFID, PDA and MCA. Consistent digitalization imply is synergic effect in shape of better informations, then doctor has online available.

Information system DoctIS has been developed to significantly increase efficiency of business processes, to achieve cost savings and greater work efficiency. The main sources of positive effects are in practice process automation, online procurement of information relevant for decision-making and its providing to workers on different management levels, control staff and systemic avoidance of unnecessary waste of enterprise resources.
